Obsessed with "Bun" as my main Package Manager

Updated:

Been obsessed with Bun as my main package manager for the longestttt 🍃💨

Like, why tf am I using it? SPEED, duhhh 🚀⚡

NPM comes pre-installed with Node and everything, but bro… that thing is SLOW slow. Like watching paint dry while your grandma knits a sweater. 🐢💤 Sometimes it just freezes mid-install on a chunky package and I’m sitting there like “hello?? earth to npm???” 😭 TikTok really destroyed my attention span, I can’t be waiting 84 years for dependencies anymore lmaooo

Then comes Bun… and suddenly installing React + 200 packages takes literally 4 seconds flat ⏱️✨

No cap, I gasped the first time I ran bun install. Felt like I unlocked cheat codes in real life 🤯💚 I’m in LOVE love, like down bad, married to Bun, putting a ring on it type shi fr fr 💍🐰 (But I am already married soo 🤭)

Okay but real talk tho, Bun ain’t perfect 100% of the time 😅 Sometimes bunx throws hands and gives me random errors like “bestie what did I do?? 😭”

Idk if it’s just me being smooth-brain or if the package wasn’t ready for Bun yet, but it do be happening sometimes.

Still not enough to make me switch back tho 🤷‍♂️ Lowkey waiting for the day something even faster drops (if that’s even possible atp), but until then? Bun owns my heart and my terminal forever 🐰🩷

Quick install guide for the newbies real quick 👇

  1. Open your terminal and paste this magic line:\
curl - fsSL https://bun.sh/install | bash
  1. Restart your terminal (or just run source ~/.bashrc / source ~/.zshrc)
  2. Done bestie ✨ Type bun —version to flex on everyone

Works on macOS, Linux, and even Windows (WSL). If you’re on Windows without WSL, just go to https://bun.sh and grab the .exe 🤍

After that just use:

Welcome to the fast lane babes 🚀🐰💨
